Have noticed some strange behavior from XP lately, random reboots which seem to occur in Everquest. Frequency has been increasing to the point of me coming here and posting. I found my error log, (no idea how I found it but I found it) the majority of the errors recently (Ok exclusively from June 12 47 times to be exact) all say the same thing Source crypt32 then Failed to auto update retrieval of third-party root list sequence number from: with error: 0x2. Kinda strange to me but was wondering if anyone had any idea what might be going on?
Ok will try suggestion but I also went to the knowledge base did what this article said http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp and promptly got the error again will update after I try the suggestion ![]() UPDATE: Got this message from blue screen of death A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL If this is your first time youve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. blah blah blah Technical Information *** Stop: 0x0000000A (0xfc4d830c, 0x000000ff, 0x0000000, 0x80523912) Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory Dump complete. Assuming middle text generic so didn't copy it all hope this gives you all some idea of what is going on. Happend while playing everquest. Last edited by borbos; 07-08-2004 at 12:10 AM. |

Turn off the auto restart feature and it will go to a blue screen (bsod) with an error message. If you post the error message, we may be able to steer you in the right direction. Auto restart is located: Start/control panel/system/advanced tab/settings at the bottom under system recovery. Uncheck the box in front of auto restart after error.

I had a similar problem with my pc about a month ago. I was told to replace my ram first and if that didn't work, then replace my mother board. This may not be the problem because typically your pc would just shut off without an error. I hope for your sake that it isnt a hardware issue, but i just wanted to post my thoughts. It could also possibly be a virus. Try to copy and paste the error message and google it. Good luck!
