Question Question on network card and program errors in win2k

My dad has a compaq evo 510c from work to do work stuff and his own stuff too(mostly his stuff). In the last 2 weeks, he has brought it back to his IT department to have them fix it. The firs time, camercafe wouldnt connect and he couldnt access Blackice firewall settings cause he was locked out of doing that. They gave him access to it and cameracafe was solved by reinstalling it. the second time was about a day ago. Everytime he boots the pc and tries to start programs, he gets cannot read the memory errors. it happens with AOL 9.0, blackice, and a couple other programs. I told him that something messed up his system files or the memory stick they added was going bad. When he broguht it back today, the IT guys said that all the errors were caused by me disabling the NIC card. I don't think so. Can this actually happen cause i disabled a network card when at home he isnt connected to a network? by the way, i dont know if this makes a difference but the pc has novel netware installed on the win2k box. Any suggestions on why the errors popped up and if they were wrong on the network card? Thanks.

I don't think by disable the NIC card would cause that problem... it's something else that causes that error..
that's may be the virtual memory file,, try to reset it.. to see if the work...
