Identify file
I am trying to find out what a file is and what it does--internet search gives no results. microsoft site search gives no results The small file is located in the System32 folder and is shown as running in the task manager processes menu. The properties show a MSDOS icon but little else. The file is ibplzuf.exe I like to know what is going on with my computer.

It could be a virus or spyware since some of them use random file names. I would first do a search on your computer to find the file. It might help to identify it by what folder it is in. You can also download Vision, one of Foundstone's free tools to see if this .exe file is listening on a certain port.

I'd suspect a virus. Rename the file (you will have to end the task first) and see if anything breaks. I'm guessing that it won't, so you can just delete it. That's what I do when I come across a suspicious file.
Filenames like that are often malicious, as mairving said. |
