Loading Drivers From XP CD

I am trying to make a Boot disk with CD-ROM support. I can download one but I dont have an A drive on my lap top. The computer that I reformated does not seem to like windows XP. Is there any way to load CD-ROM driver from the windows XP cd? Once I cancel the windows XP installation it goes to the C: prompt and I cant get back to my CD-ROM. Does anyone know if it is possible to do this without a boot disk?

What exactly is the problem you are encountering?

Explain "doesn't like XP"

Did you set the first boot device to cd rom in bios? Windows XP should boot from the disk
