Spybot 1.3 Needs Manual Fix: That's why some spyware remains after running it
I just helped someone get rid of his computer spyware. He was using Spybot 1.3 which should have caught the spyware but didn't. It turns out that there are some manual fixes that need to made in Spybot 1.3 or some spyware will get through.
1. In Spybot 1.3, click on the mode menu at the top and select Advanced Mode and Answer Yes to when it prompts you.
2. Look at the lower bottom left side and click on Settings. Then click Ignore Products section.
3. Click on the All Products tab. About 3 or 4 of the products will have a check mark in their box. This shouldn't be so you have to scroll through all the listed products and make sure there are no checkmarks in any of them. If there are, remove the check marks.
