Re Installed XP Home and CPU 100% usage all the time

I zero filled and formatted my HD and reinstalled Windows XP Home SP1 which took 27 hours to load. Now the PC is so slow it won't finish loading up the desktop. I have torn the entire PC apart and put it back together again and nothing changes. Can someone tell me what to do next?

What are the rest of your specs like....my cousin had the same problem because she was only running 128Mb of RAM, and XP requires more. can you get to the desktop at all....if you are you could try removing all of windows XP's extra effects, including the "Bliss" theme, and going back to the Classic theme. I personally prefer the Classic windows theme.

384 RAM
1.2 Ghz AMD
HP PC with an integrated motherboard
60 Gig HDD

I thought it had a virus and the it was time to renew the registry so I destroyed all software and reinstalled. XP now runs so slow it won't load desktop. CPU usage is 100% every time you move the mouse.

I wish I knew what the problem was....maybe we can get someone in here that knows....I am interested myself...Did you reformat when youinsalled WinXP again, or did you just do a restore or whatever? If you didn't maybe you need to do a full reformat and full intall again.
