where is it

i cant seem to find where you find the start up or program or folder that you can choose what programs you want on your start up and which you dont want i have win xp pro if yall could help me that would make my day or it would just help me out a lot.

Start > Run > "msconfig" (without quotes ) I recommend sticking to the startup tab as messing with the others can really mess things up.

It also wouldn't be a bad idea to check the Startup folder by going to Start > All Programs > Startup.

It's generally best to configure it in the program itself whether you want it to start on boot up or not, but if you want to do it manually, the msconfig command that Hi Ho suggested worked for me - go to the startup tab from there, and bingo.

Yeah but many times it's difficult to find that option. That's one of several reasons I refuse to install Real Player and Quicktime Player. They run things in the background that can't be stopped by MSconfig and are buried deep in the options.

Note that this feature is not found within win200.

thank you guys i found it i have a lot of programs that are not needed for start up and you guys once again helped me out.
