Look in User Accounts of Control Panel. You'll probably find a .net acct listed. Remove it and you should go straight to the start screen. If you want to prevent having to use a password when returning from Standby mode, go to Power Options/advanced tab and uncheck the appropriate box.

Make sure guest account is OFF, .NET account is gone and your account has no password. Then Windows should boot right to the desktop.

It will only do this if all the above is true, AND there are no other user accounts on the machine (not including Administrator).

He is using XP Pro, which requires admin password. There is nothing wrong, as long as the account is limited, to run it as that, and skip the splash screen.
Your account has to be limited, no other accounts on computer, and there should be no password for the account. -neo |
