I just reformatted my hard drive and installed win xp pro. It works just fine except it has like a 10 minute booting sequence then xp starts normally. Can someone help me please?

Have you downloaded and installed all updates? There might (but unlikely) be one that will fix it. What are your system specs?

I dont think i have the same problem as tht guy because it doesnt stay at the windows loading screen. It stays at a black screen where a white bar jus loads for like 10 minutes.. this problem is annoying me. And i have another
problem after like 40minutes on my comp it just freezes for no reason. so i
have to restart and go through the prcess all over again

But thanx for ure replies whatsthisbox

Why the format? OS upgrade, virus, etc....Also, have you tried cleaning out any/all temp files, folders, etc, although there should be few on a new install. what are the system specs? Does windows give an error message after the freeze, or reboot or anything? have you tried booting into safe mode, or unchecking any progs that might be loading at boot.

i formated because i had a lot of spyware and tojans etc... also its a pretty new computer i built myself it worked fine before i reformatted. When the computer freezes it has no error msg or anything and i have to reboot it manually.
