Question How to disable MSN messenger from auto connect during connection

So how to disable it. Everytime I log into the internet, from offline to online, it logs in automatically. Sometimes without my knowing. I cannot exit it, cause its like glued to my start bar, even though I have already close all the apps relating to IM.

Rename the folder to something like:
C:\Program Files\Messenger_X
Then it won't startup at all.

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
Open MSN Messenger and click on the Options under tools, then click the preferences. You should find a place to uncheck "start msn messenger when my computer starts". That will shut it off.

On the MSN messenger box that comes up when you see your buddy list click on tools then click on options at the bottom. Next click on general tab and remove the check on the first box "Run Messenger when windows stars"

Tools > options > "General" tab > uncheck "allow automatic sign in when connected to the internet".
