installing xp pro, cd key trouble
so im in the middle of installing xp pro, when the cd key thing comes up, so i type it in, it doesnt work. then i put the one in that was on a sticker under my spare laptop. they both say "The Product ID you entered is not valid." Anyone know why?
PS: All cd keys where purchased legally. |

Only thing I can suggest is to double and triple check that you are typing in the correct key. Other than that, give MS a call.

Your best bet is probably to call Microsoft and explain to them your situation. From what I've heard, they are pretty good with this kind of thing. There must be a reason, but it would be easier to just get a new key.
Are you sure that you're not mixing up "O" and "0" or something along those lines? (I know I've made that mistake before...) Mike |

I have done that with various different keys myself, substituting 0 for O, or visa versa. Sometimes it's hard to tell what it is supposed to be on those digitized tags.
