I have a problem. I tried to format my drive and reinstall windows
but I get a message that says that there are disk utilities using the drive and that I cant do it. then I just tried to reinstall xp now to make matters worse my cd is messed up and screwed with scratches and things beyond repair. and I am stuck midway to install right at the screen where it says 39 mins to complete. but nothing goes ...is there anyway I can get back to my windows so I can just buy a new cd and reinstall? please reply if you have a solution...please.!!!!!!!!!1 |

Have you tried using a zerofill utility to whipe out the drive?
I am thinkin since the CD is scratched, it could be the cause of the install going wrong |

Is this a home built computer or a name brand PC?
Are you using a genuine MS Windows CD or a restore or recovery CD from the maker of the PC? What are the system specs? Cricket
