How to create a System restore CD!

Hello All, I just fresly built my first pc and i was wondering how i can create a system restore cd like the BIG companies like Compaq, Dell, Gateway etc....
I dont need anything fancy just need to have something that will work incase my pc should Actup in the future. I would really appriciate it if anyone can help me out. Thanks in advance

You don't need one. That's why you have your OS CD. If you need to do a reinstall, you just do that with your OS disc, if you need to do a repair install, you just do that with your OS disc, etc..

What you could do is make a ghost image backup of your drive.

Yes. Two good ones are Norton's Ghost and Power Quest's Drive Image.

You would do this after you have everything loaded including SP's and critical updates.

If you can get your hands on a Maximum PC Special Issue Winter 2004 Issue it has a step by step how to on this, in a nutshell

1) Confirm you can boot from CD
2) Back up all data
3) Collect all drivers on disks
4) Format Hard Drive
5) Install OS
6) Update OS
7) Install Drivers
8) Tweak OS to your liking
9) Install apps to be included on all future restores (Office products etc)
10) Create the restore disks with Norton Ghost software or Power Qwest Drive Image

You will probably need several (3+ )disks for the image and of course the software to make the image.
