Win xp pro cd got scratched...

Hey guys i was i about to install windows when my lite on dvd drive started

makin weird noises, so i quickly popped open the drive and took the cd out.

sadly the cd got pretty badly scratched... is there a way i can get a new

installation disk without paying for a new one like downloading it off the

microsoft website or sumthin?.

Call MS and explain to them what happened. From what I've heard they are pretty good about this kind of thing, and will send you a new disc. There may be a small charge for shipping and/or media, I can't remember at the moment.

go buy CD buffer and fix it.. or buy CD doctor---if the cd got scratches on the reading surface, doesn't damaged the data on the CD...
