Hang time between windows boot screen and logon screen

I've searched through many threads and haven't found any threads with this problem, if there is one i do apologize. I get a blank screen for about 2 minutes between the windows boot screen and the logon screen. I thought it may have been something i removed from the registry so i restored everything i removed, still does it. If anyone has any idea what is causing this i would really appreciate the input. Also i noticed in my event log that there is an "error with device/cdrom0" every few seconds, don't know if this might be the reason and if so how do i fix it.

System:
Soyo KT 600 Dragon Plus
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
512MB PC2700
XFX NVidia GeForce MX4000
AudioTrak Maya 5.1 Channel Sound Card
Artec 52x32x52 CD Burner
Mad Dog 4x2x12 DVD Burner

Welcome to PCMech, sjdragon

Networking may have something to do with the delay.

Go to Control Panel > Networking Connections. Right click on your internet connection and click "Properties". Uncheck "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Network" and hit apply and OK. Windows 2000 machines will need to reboot before continuing. Go back into "Properties" and re-check the box, hit apply and OK and reboot if needed. Hopefully, you will notice a boost in boot speed.

i got it figured out. I was having problems with a usb printer and called Epson, they decided that it was my usb controller so I called the mobo company. We decided the printer problem was because i had XP service pack 1 and it doesn't support usb 2.0. We disabled it in the bios and the printer works now and the hang time has gone away. Tech support said it had to do with the conflict in the usb controller.
