Hi
I recently fitted a new 80Gb Seagate Barracuda HDD, and used Seagates discwizard software to mirror the old HDD, this all worked fine. However on checking system restore settings there is only one restore point. When I look in system restore settings the memory allocation slider is at max setting on both drives. After fitting the new disk the old had everything deleted and is for storage only. System restore however still thinks this is the system disk. Anyone know how I can change this?

Have you tried disabling system restore, rebooting and then trying to re-enable it? Does windows recognize your new drive? Is the size etc correct?

Will the new drive boot up if you UNplug the old drive? With Norton Ghost for example, it is Imperative that you unplug the newly cloned drive before you reboot.

Thanks for replying guys,
Esy yes I unplugged old drive to make XP recognise new drive as system drive, which it does. All except system restore. Statica, will try switching off system restore & rebooting and post back. |
