Question XP newbie?

I'm in the middle of my first build and I'm not sure which I should do. I am going to use the HDD from the PC I am currently writing this on, as the Master for the PC I am building. I currently have Win98SE on this HDD and am going to format and install WinXP Home Edition with SP1 on it. Should I install WinXP on the HDD while it is still in this PC, or wait until I finish my new build and have the HDD physically installed into the PC? What do you guys think? I will appreciate any info I am given. thorlo6

The best thing to do is wait till you have your new system built, and the HD installed in that computer. That way you will avoid hardware conflicts when the OS encounters all that new hardware. It will be alot easier and alot less headaches.

You should wait and install xp when the drive is in the new build so that the installation recognizes the hardware in the other computer.
