Exclamation Choose operating system at startup?

Hey again..

I've reinstalled windows XP home now, but when I restart my computer, I'm asked to select MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION, or MICROSOFT WINDOWS. If I select the MICROSOFT WINDOWS option, I am delivered to the C:\ . How did this get here, and how do I remove this? I want my computer to boot straight into Windows XP without any OP selection.

Thanks

if you right click on my computer, go to properties, go to advanced, click on settings for startup and recovery, and then click on Edit (1/3 the way down). this will pull up your startup file. both should be listed. remove the one associated with microsoft windows, underneath [operating systems]. you will be all set.
