screen border

I have a HP Pavillion zt1175 notebook that has a 2 inch border on the screen around the picture. I am running XP Home edition and it is a p4 1.4 ghz. How do I get the picture to go all the way to the sides of the screen.

LCD screens, unlike CRTs will only fill the screen at the recommended resolution. It is possible that your resolution is set lower than the max supported one; or that you have it configured to TV resolution+the LCD panel. Go to Diskplay Properties > Advanced and check the screen resolution.
I see from the HP Pav. ZT1xxx series that there are 2 kinds of LCD panels:
"14.1/15-in XGA (1024x768) or 15-in SXGA+ (1400x1050) TFT LCD display."
Depending on what your LCD type is try setting it to the max.

Thanks. Setting it to 1024X768 did the trick. I was running it at 800x600
