Media PLayer causing shutdown
Hi, Ive been having this problem with media player 9 and 10 beta, lots of times when i click to go to the next track or click on a new song, my compouter freezes for a second and then reboots, it is fine if i start playing a song and leave it to go onto the next tracks. I have had this problem also on previous installations of Windows XP Pro and im running it on Windows XP pro.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Tom |

What codec is the song encoded in? You might usually find these problems with rogue codecs that are poorly designed.
Also check to see if you get the same error in the same situation as when you skip the track on a CD (CD audio), wav file or midi. Also turn off auto-reboot on crash and check to see error message or check application logs for error log. |

I was having the same problem before I upgraded to a sound card. I belive it was the drivers for the onboard sound causing the problem.
