Cant reninstall xp!!

hi,

I have 2 hard drives one master and one slave, I want to format and reninstall xp home on the master and keep the slave as it is.
Every time i try it says something about disk manager and reinsert floppy if using a floppy (im booting from the recovery cds that came with the computer not a proper xp disc) and the program goes no futher. I can still use the computer as normal if i boot up again as normal so i can make changes in windows if i need to.
This is the first time i have tried reinstalling since i installed the slave and the first time i have encountered problems as well...so im thinking the problem is to do with the slave...but i could be completely wrong.

I have no idea what to do so any ideas would be very welcome.

ian.

So you don't have a real XP install cd, but a recover CD, correct? Have you tried disconnecting the slave drive from the PC?
