Click on Start->Run and type MSCONFIG. Look in the "startup" folder for any reference to the program and uncheck it.

Good old Wild Tangent. A friend of mine purchased Blaster Ball (I think it is made by Wild Tangent) and it installed a whole bunch of this crap on his PC. He thinks sense he paid for it its not intrusive.

Wild Tangent is often necessary for online games. The latest version of AOL Instant Messaging also bundles it. Most AntiSpyWare programs will remove it. It sounds like yours may have been incompletely uninstalled. The links below offer lots of info about it - from both sides of the issue. It is generally considered not to be true "spyware", but you may want to read up & decide for yourself:

To get rid of it you may have to install it again, and then correctly uninstall it. My guess is that you used a anti-spyware program, and it removed the Wild Tangent files, and you didn't realize that certain programs required it. Since the programs that need it can't find it, they will give you an error message. Is this what you did?
