How to partition and format a hard disk in Windows XP
Basically, after you have your computer put together and gotten your first POST beep, you go into BIOS and set the first boot device to the CD-ROM. Put the WinXP Pro CD in the drive and Save and Exit the BIOS. The computer will reboot to the WinXP Pro CD and the installer will take over. Follow the on-screen instructions. For the OS partition, I wouldn't go smaller than 10GB...in fact, you might want to go about 20GB if you plan to install your programs on that partition too. You can make your other partitions whatever size you want. Cricket
