I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Sometimes I experience a slight delay if I have several programs running in the background. For example, I have my browser open, a photo editing program, and a folder that has pictures that I want to edit open. If I click on 'start' then I notice a bit of a delay but not a 3 second delay such as you are describing. My delay is maybe a half a second. The only thing I can suggest is checking how much memory you have and how many running processes as that will affect how fast it will open.
Using the classic rather than the XP display option will affect performance, since the XP default is a bit more intensive than the 'classic' view. Hopefully that helps! Scomac |
