problem with the start menu

i installed a program and when i go to the start menu it says new program installed and highlights the program that i just installed, so i clicked it and used the program and when i close it, there is no balloon which is normal but the program is still highlighted. i dont really want to disable this feature so is there anything i can do

thanks

When it happens to me I open and close it a few times, it normally works, or even better I just leave it and it eventualy disappears.

It usually goes away by itself after a few days or a few uses.

Yes, I've noticed that too. I think the whole "new program installed" feature is not fully developed and is hit-or-miss. It probably depends on both Windows and the program being installed. If it's that annoying to you, disable it.

No, I keep it on. I really don't care one way or the other and I don't pay attention to is, so it doesn't bother me.
