I have a firewal ZoneAlarm. I don't know that I have donr anything, have never even used messenger. The pop up box is on my screen now and does not go away even after rebooting? It's driving me crazy. Any way to get rid of messenger all together?

Signed,

Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I would be SO grateful for any help.

Send a message via AIM to ZeratulsAvenger
Wait. So you are not trying to open MSN Messenger? Say you are browsing the internet after your computer starts up and then it just pops that msg up? Could you have it set to start up automatically with windows? If so, and you dont use it, it may be listed as a program to startup with Windows in either Start>Program Files>Startup or in Start>Run>msconfig>Startup. Remove it and it would stop starting with Windows which might help stop the error msg.
