New to winXP
I purchased a laptop w/ XP home ed. on it. I am new to this os. I have seen it on a friends pc and was a little diffucult to navigate my way around finding some of the files. I know that there is a lot of things out there that are on the market showing you how to use XP but I don't want to throw away money on something no good. I have a good handle on win98se...do you think a person can just feel their way through it or should I try to find something to help??? if so what would you reccommend?

If you can handle Win98 SE then you can handle WinXP as well. The navigation itself through your folders hasn't changed at all. Just go in Windows Explorer to Extras > Folder Options and set up your XP like you are used to.

right click on your desktop and select properties.
then under the themes tab select winndows classic. then right click on your taskbar and select properties. select the start menu tab and then select "classic start menu" then you have a pretty close representation to windows 98se if you want to keep things the same, you should be able to get a good feel for it by just playing around. |
