Question Two Problems

Hi All:

I reinstalled Win98 and now it asks me for a password at startup
"Enter Network Password", I don't enter a password, but just click OK, I would like to get rid of it asking every time I start my computer.

Second, my e-mail (Outlook Express 5) is also asking for a password when I click Send/Receive, the remember password check box is grayed out, so I can't check it, I would like to get rid of it asking everytime I want to check my mail.

OS: Win98, IE 5.5, Sprint DSL.

This was a clean install, and everything else is working just fine.

Your help will be very much appreciated, and thanks ahead of time,

Bill Lane

Im not sure about your second problem, but when i had the first, this is the advice DrZaius gave me:

Hope that helps

Thanks

Thanks mikezel,

That did the trick for the windows startup

Now if someone can tell me what I can do about the Outlook Express password problem, I'll really be happy

Thanks again,

Bill Lane

Here is the only reference I can find for this issue with Win98 - and unfortunately it involves upgrading to IE/OE 6.

Thanks glc:

I went to the link you posted just to take a look at what it had to say even though I wasn't going to upgrade to IE/OE 6.

At the end of the artical the instructions were so simple it made me go back and recheck my settings in OE 5, well I found what I needed this time, don't know how I over looked it before, as I know I was in here two or three times.

Anyway, click Tools, Properties, Server Tab, and there it was, the Remember Password box unchecked, I checked it, and everything is okay now.

Thanks for your help!!!, really appreciate it !!!
