Hi All:
I reinstalled Win98 and now it asks me for a password at startup "Enter Network Password", I don't enter a password, but just click OK, I would like to get rid of it asking every time I start my computer. Second, my e-mail (Outlook Express 5) is also asking for a password when I click Send/Receive, the remember password check box is grayed out, so I can't check it, I would like to get rid of it asking everytime I want to check my mail. OS: Win98, IE 5.5, Sprint DSL. This was a clean install, and everything else is working just fine. Your help will be very much appreciated, and thanks ahead of time, Bill Lane

Here is the only reference I can find for this issue with Win98 - and unfortunately it involves upgrading to IE/OE 6.

Thanks glc:
I went to the link you posted just to take a look at what it had to say even though I wasn't going to upgrade to IE/OE 6. At the end of the artical the instructions were so simple it made me go back and recheck my settings in OE 5, well I found what I needed this time, don't know how I over looked it before, as I know I was in here two or three times. Anyway, click Tools, Properties, Server Tab, and there it was, the Remember Password box unchecked, I checked it, and everything is okay now. Thanks for your help!!!, really appreciate it !!!
