Not booting up

Hey guys,

Have an issue here. I've recently been unable to load the OS on my Pc (XP pro) it makes it all the way to the blue welcome screen and then just seems to freeze with a constant "heartbeat" type rythem of Hdd LED flashing.

The probelm only started happening after i installed a 56k modem and 1st tried to booth up... i then removed the modem but the problem was still there

When i 1st started the pc after installing the modem i got the BsOD for split second before the system restarted itself..... have not seen BsOD since then

Any help would be great!

Download hard drive diagnostic test from the hard drive manufacturur's website and run a test on your hard drive.

I've seen bad RAM cause this. Try running setup without the modem installed & 1 stick of RAM that you know works good.
