Question Administrators and Users

Can someone please explain the difference of a user and just using the administrator login using XP Professional.
I have heard that using administrator is not a good thing. In my house it is just my wife and I and I just want to boot my system and use it. I don't want to login in as someone if I don't have to BUT if there is a reason to do this then I would like to know.
If I have no other users than Admin, how do I create more?

Thanks
Steve

Logging in as admin just makes it easier for hackers/trojans to do their thing...

if you have up to date ante virus and a fire wall ruining on you computer then using the admin account is OK if you want to make a new account the open control panel select the users tab and hit the new user button and follow the instructions on screen
