I recently had problem with my old pc and it will not boot. Every time I press power button to start power light will come on and in 2 seconds computer will go off. I thought my 2001 gateway is old or has burned something so I changed mother board ( that was my excuse to buy new one any how) and installed Intel Mother board and intell celeron 2.0 GHZ processor and every thing worked fine. I downloaded all the upgrades and activated my windows xp. next day I tried to restart and it has same problem. Computer will not start ot it will turn off in 5 seconds. I was able to boot system from cd and reinstalled windows xp with service pack one but problem persists can someone help to solve this problem
Thanks, Ghulam

My assumption here would be that you have the same power supply still from when you were having problems the first time, so being that the MOBO is new I would try a new power supply.
