A couple more WinXP questions...
In WinXP, how do you:
-Setup the firewall. -Remove/add items from the start menu -Remove/add items from the icons at the bottom right. I've always worked with Win 98, but on my recently completely new build, I have WinXP Home. It's going to take me a little bit to figure out all the tricks, so any advice and hints would be great! Thanks! |

Firewall is on the Advanced tab of the device you use to connect with (like LAN) You just turn it on.
The icons in the bottom right are the programs that are running. To limit the ones that start when your system starts, go to Run and type: msconfig (just like you do with 98) Adding items to the start menu is automatic on install of a program. Remove is right click and Delete (only deletes the short cut on the start menu, not the program. Use Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel for that) You might want to spend some time going thru the Help section. Pick out a few items in the index and just review how things are done. |

If you switch your start menu and control panel over to Classic view, it will work just like 98.
