win xp firewall shutoff?

how do i turn off the built in firewall for win xp?

Ok. You shut off the firewall like so:

Click Start>My Network Places.
On the side you will see a panel headed "Network Tasks".
In that panel click "View Network Connections"
Under "Lan or High Speed Internet" double click on your ethernet card/controller.
In the dialog box select "Properties" and you should get a new Window.
On this new window click on the "Advanced" tab and deselect the option to protect yoru computer.

or -->start-->settings-->control panel-->windows firewalls-->select off..
