NTFS and Kernel woes...
So here's the story:
I'm running my comp. Do a lot of stuff, tend to get around on the internet a lot. Go to boot into Win XP Pro SP1a and guess what? My Kernel is corrupt, no more Windows. Now, this would be no problem to fix since I have a copy of my kernel right here, however, I have no way to get into my NTFS partition. Meh! Since I have RedHat Linux 9 installed on this comp too I at least still can use my comp, but it's not good enough because I have no way to WRITE to an NTFS filesystem. Kinda in a jam cause I still need Windows, I REALLY REALLY don't want to reinstall Windows if at all possible. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. --Shadow-- |

Ok, I fixed my problem. What I did since no one replyed to try and help:
I got a nifty little program called VMware Worstation 4.5 and ran it under Linux. Installed my copy of Win XP in WMware and gave it access to my physical HDD. Since Win XP has Native NTFS support I could simply replace my Kernal and I'm good to go. --Shadow-- |
