there is no easy way I think...you need to be a hardcore programmer and need some special equippment to re-write the BIOS chip.

you could swith off your monitor though

maybe there's another way, at least I don't know anything else

No you can't get rid of it. The only thing that you can do is to exchange it by another picture, so you will then see your picture instead of the POST information.
The BIOS itself offers you a standard picture, and if you want to create your own you need to read in the manual how to do that. It requires flashing the BIOS, though.

Ok Thanks guys it's amazing to me that in the year 2004 we still can't have the option of having it or not

You would think they could make it a little more presentable than that crap looking thing I mean you do need it at times but it would be cool to have none of it when you want it that way.

The P4P800 should have a bootlogo utility including with the mobo CD. However, I really must question the wisdom of wanting to remove that information screen. In this wild age of GUI's and skins, it might comfort you to know that the POST screen is still one of the most important screens and hence largely left untouched simply because of the sheer importance of that screen - sure it might be the same day after day .. year after year, but the screen is kept there to ensure that the day the information changes you will know what hardware failed.

Well I'm not saying to get rid of the screen just to hide it when we are not using it as an added tweak
I think it would be nice!

As said, the fullscreen picture is an option to hide that screen. It will cover it completely, but of course it won't reduce the boot time.

If you wanna try it, go into BIOS, then go to the BOOT page, select "Boot Settings Configuration" and set "Quiet Boot" to enable.
You can change that to any pic you like. The necessary software is on the Asus CD, and well, it requires to flash the BIOS.
