windows xp upgrade and full difference
why do they make the full version of windows xp if u could do the full installation with the upgrade version of windows xp. well when i do it with the upgrade version it never asked me for a previous version windows disc

upgrade must have previous install or a cd, full needs nothing, other than that they are the same.
upgrade is normally installed on top of other system , then the cd is not needed. |

When installing XP on a hard drive with a previous version of Windows it won't ask for a CD but it will still give you the option of deleting existing operating system and installing XP on a clean partition. This is always the preferred method. Installing on top of an existing version frequently causes problems.
