XP's CHKDSK: problem found or not?
When running CHKDSK in Win XP Pro, I have noticed that sometimes it will state no problems found, and other times it sez nothing.
Here's an example (most of the non-related verbage taken out): Quote:
TIA

I have a hunch your second drive (or partition) is NTFS, while the first is FAT32. The second drive mentions security descriptors, a feature of NTFS. It isn't going to check for security descriptors on a non NTFS drive/partition.
Edit : Damn, looks like I misread your post. Could you please post the full text of both scans ? All this bla bla is making it hard for me to follow

Hi Mesaeus,
Yes, all drives are NTFS. I have 4 physical drives broken into 9 logical drives. Three do Not show "no problems found" and 6 do. I checked and it doesn't matter if it's the first "drive" on the physical drive; the examples below come from the first "drive" on two different physical drives. As requested, here are two full examples: Quote:

On g: checkdisk: Detected minor inconsistencies on the drive. This is not a corruption.
It does not do this on h:, I assume this is counted as a problem. |

Thanks, Mesaeus, for wanting a complete text, and good catch, WhatsThisBoxFor? !
My batch file originally did Not have the "/v" switch. I just added it for the text that Mesaeus asked for, but (blush blush) I didn't take the time to read it! Dooh! I just ran CHKDSK with the "/F" switch and, voila, all drives now report "no problem found" ! So, if it doesn't say "no problem found" .... there are problems! Thanks for figuring it out folks!
