Does anyone know what the command devmgmt.msc is or better yet where during the XP install it is used?

it opens device manager. i have no idea where it is used in the install, tho

i am not sure i know what you mean. you use it from the run command to open device manager. remember that xp does not have true dos, so i don't know exactly what you mean by "used in dos"

Also, Device Manager applet is a Windows program, not a DOS program...
