Folder function trouble

Ok, how can I correct this? I have a bunch of mp3s in one folder, when I arrange them in order of "Modified last" they stay in order and if I play one or two the order does not change.

Another folder, however, changes the file's modified date to today after I play it so all the files I play go to the end of the list of files as if they were modified when I simply accessed them, not modified.

The modified date only chages if the file itself has been changed, with mp3s this could be the tag attached to them with the song info in. What do you mean by another folder is changing the dates? Maybe try setting the files to read only, that way they cant be modified - not sure if it'll work but it could be worth a try.
