cinemclc.sys

I recently reformatted my hardrive and reinstalled Win98SE. So, I had to then go and reinstall all my drivers. I found all the correct drivers on-line and started to download them. When I was installing the driver for my CineMaster C 3.0, the computer asked me for the cinemclc.sys file. I had all the cabs on my C: drive and I had changed the registry settings to automatically get files from there, so I was somewhat surprised at this. Well, I couldn't find the file anywhere on my computer and was forced to skip the file. Now there is a big yellow exclamation point next to the device in the device manager. Any ideas?

I'm getting a similar error when trying to install drivers for my Vortex2 AU8830A2. Except this time, the missing file is called au30mult.cat.

I resolved the au30mult.cat problem, I just had to redirect it to the driver file. But that didn't work with the first problem. I'm still stumped, but I'll keep looking. Please help.

Try reinstalling your CineMaster drivers again, only this time when it asks where to look for the driver, don't point it to the general Windows installation .cab folder, instead use the "Browse" option and point it to wherever you saved your download of the CineMaster drivers.

[or, if you've used a driver already built-in to the Win98 installation disk in the past, re-direct it to the proper driver folder, just at you did for the other device]

Here's the thing. When I installed the driver, I pointed it to the files I downloaded. But windows 98 has a tendency to want files from the cd ne ways. So, when it was asking me for that file, the message box said "insert the windows 98 cd" It doesn't really matter anymore though. The device manager mysteriously started saying that the device was working properly after a few reboots instead of saying that there was an error and displaying the exclamation point. Thanks ne ways.
