My HP Pavilion 7970 is running w/ windows Me and it just started booting up in safe mode w/ out giving me the option to run it in normal mode like it would normally do. What can I do to make it boot up in Normal mode? Thx

Click Start->Run and type MSCONFIG. It's been a while, but somewhere in the screen that comes up is an option to run in safe mode. Need to turn it off.

. . . you can also try a System Restore, using a restore point from before this trouble started.

A bad driver, a problematic software/hardware install, faulty hardware, virus/spyware - all these could cause the system to start in Safe Mode. Run a full system antivirus/antispyware check, especially after using System Restore, as viruses and spyware often store a copy in there.

A quick check in Device Manager will show any devices that are flagged with problems, too. [red Xs or yellow exclamation points (!) ]

. . . and Welcome to the PC Mechanic forums!
