Exclamation ___**Help w/ Reformating HD**___

Wassup everybody,

This is my first post so to all those who reply: THANKS!

Ok, my question is:

I will be upgrading from Windows XP Home to WIndows XP Corp as soon as I can. But first I want to REFORMAT my HD. I want to wipe out everythign and start from scratch. HOW DO I DO THIS? Are there any programs out there, or will there be a "reformat" option on the XP Corp disc? My friend told me that the reformat option on the disc still leaves "residue" on the HD.

If anybody has any info, please reply and let me know!

Thanks in advance,

Welcome to PC Mech!!!! :-D

Yes, when you switch or upgrade the OS to XP Corp it will have the option to reformat the drive.

To really wipe the hard drive, get Delpart to remove the partitions and then get KillDisk to wipe the hard drive clean.

Follow the troubleshooting instructions by HAL9000 in this thread. You must remove the motherboard from the case when doing this procedure for it to be of any use.
