Its the Dark Side!
|
On some occasions I have to use IE so I often use the Run command to get there. But for some reason it says that It can't find iexplore.exe (which I know is the IE exe file). So why cant Run find it? What should I do to fix this? btw, if there is another thread on this, just give me the link, i havent got a chance to do a search.
TIA, CN

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that! The OS is WinXP home. I can still access IE from program files, its still there. But Im not sure why Run cant find it. Oh and btw, i just found out that Run can't find MSCONFIG either!
Im not sure what other standard proggys Run cant find but so far those are the only two im dealing with!CN

Also I might want to point out that when some programs try to open IE, i get an error box saying "Windows can't find [url]", and so on. I think these probs may have occured after installing firefox. Do you think these problems relate?

*UPDATE*. Alright I decided to get off my lazy bum (
), and so some research. I found another method to getting that run command to work again by adding a registry key in a certain spot. I dont know if its the "official" way to fix it, but it seems to be working just as well so I guess im alright.CN

Saw in another thread that not using an Admin Rights User will do this. That may be your problem.

I concur.
Check to see what kind of user permissions you have. |

Nope, Im set to admin. So far my registry setting seems to be working fine. At first I thought the problem was because of changing my default browser to firefox. But i doubt it.
