SP2 question

I got the popup to download SP2. I selected download and then my update icon disappeared from the toolbar and that was the end. I have been logged on for approx 5 hrs since then. I've got a blazing connection at 6000/512. Would it really take that long?

The total size of the update is 266MB, so, it will take some time. You do have a fast internet connection though, so somethings holding it up. Is there any way to check the progress of the download?

You could also just download it from Neowin instead.

normally I can check the progress (security updates), but not this one. I tried disabling the auto update, the reenabling it. The balloon came up, I clicked and poof, gone again.
Maybe I'll try your site.
Thanks

Similar thing happened to me. I got the update balloon, clicked it, got the box telling me the size, etc. Got it started. I went away thinking the size would cause it to take a while. Came back later and nothing was left, so I checked and I was still on SP1. Days later nothing has changed, still SP1.

I dl'd it from the neowin site. Thanks for the link Juice! Took 7 minutes to dl and about 2 or 3 times that to install. Disabled the firewall, but love the popup blocker.

Then you downloaded it via Windows Update
Windows Update doesn't download the entire pack, just the parts of it that haven't been installed yet.
