splat msmsgs.exe KEEPS TURNING ITSELF ON!!!

Ok, this is an MSN messenger service. What keeps happening is, I will bring up the Windows Task Manager, and then end this process, but about a minute later, it comes back on !!! It's making me mad because I have MSN messenger set not to start up with windows or anything. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and turned it off in msconfig. How do I stop this from turning on, because it uses around 10Mb of memory . I use messenger every now and then, so I want to keep it on my computer. Thanks.

PS - I have MSN Messenger 6.2...

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
Here's a method Lobos posted a while back. It's Windows Messenger that's doing it to you not MSN Messenger probably. This will remove Windows Messenger.

remove windows messenger chat service

Make sure your Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Windows Messenger and other programs are closed before doing this.

1) Click on Start, Run
2) Type the following (or cut and paste it) into the Run line

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

3) Click on OK
