Pentium 4 Banner on Start Up
Hi
When booting my computer first thing that shows is the P4 processor banner showing, then the Windows XP, I want stop the P4 banner showing on the screen. Thanks Last edited by eyez; 08-27-2004 at 08:06 PM. |

It sounds like that is the motherboard logo. If so, there is probably no way to change it unless this is a self built computer and the motherboard came with software that allows you to changet the logo (my Asus board did). Why do you not want it there? Removing it will not make it boot up faster.

A lot of biosses with a manufacturer logo have a setting to enable/disable that logo in the bios setup. Try looking for it there. And disabling it will not make your pc boot any faster, it will just show all the "gory" details of the POST (lots of technical text and ram being counted etc.) instead of hiding it. Whenever there's a bios with a fullscreen logo, pressing [tab] will switch to the text POST screen.

Yes I built this computer just got it going a few days ago, It really doesnt matter if the logo is there or not I guess. My motherboard ABIT: IC7 Max 3 thanks |

Go to "Advanced BIOS features", and look for a "Intel OnScreen Branding" setting, it should be near the bottom of the list, you might have to scroll down a bit. Disable this setting, and you should be rid of that logo

I looked in the Advanced Bios but no setting there to change banner to disable. Thanks anyways.
