Media Player and Real Player - not playing!!
Hi. I am not able to play any audio or video files in my Windows Media Player or in my Real Player. I may have installed some codecs that may have caused this - but I do not know, as the codecs were installed 2 weeks ago, and I have used these media players since then. What would you suggest I do? Thanks for your help. |

Check your sound options in the control panel. So select Start>Settings>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devieces. Click the advanced tab underneath Device Volume. See if the sound has been muted in the Wave/MP3 volume control or if any have been muted.

Rasu, what exactly happens when you try to play ? Does another program start when you double click on a video file ? Does it give an error message ? If so, what exactly ? Or does it "play" the video but the screen remains black and you don't get any sound ?

Hi what actually happens when I click a media file is that ->> it opens up Media Player or Real Player, and the player just freezes. I need to cntrl/alt/del to shut the player down.
