I have a problem. last night I tried to install a palm top to my new system that has XP Pro. on it. The palm top installation didn't go well. This morning when I re-booted the system I got the following:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM. Select R at the first screen to start repair. I tried to do this and it just goes to the C prompt. Can anyone help? Is there hope to fix a problem like this? Thanks |

Have you tried pressing F8 on startup then choosing Last known good configuration? or if that fails choose safe mode and use the system restore to go back.
