Win 2000 auto reboots after rewrite of system file
Win 2000 system32/system file was damged so had to rewrite it which put in the old registry hive.Got the win 2000 splash screen but the system would jus reboot at that point over and over.Tried a repair but same thing.Thought about running fixmbr but did not becuase it said it may mess up my partition.
Any ideas? |

Try doing a repair install of Windows 2000. I think that rewrites all of the important files.
Fixmbr just rewrites the master boot record. It should not screw up the boot partition. |
