Changing OEM Info
Hey!! I already found how to change the info in system properties, but how would I change the info that appears in DXDIAG. The only thing I would want to change would be manufacturer and model. I appreciate the help.

Run dxdiag from the run button. See where it says System Manufacturer and model on the main page? I want to change that. So instead of having my mainboard show up there, I want to put my company.

Alrighty think of it this way. If you have a dell/hp/whatever, the Manufacturer is Dell and the model is computer model. As opposed to the MOBO they used. So how do I change those two fields, possibly in regedit to what I want them to say.

This is just a possibility: Since Dell uses proprietary MOBO's (manufactured to Dell specifications), Dell name and the Model Number may be placed there by MOBO manufacturer.

But i dont want to change dells stuff lol. I just wanted to change it on a custom built PC. If DXDIAG reads from the BIOS then thats one thing, but I figured it might be a registry thing somewhere.

Have you tried some of the XP tweak sites? Search on Google.

Are you saying you want to change the name of the MB maker and the model number of the MB?
In the General Tab in system properties you can change the computor name, manufacture and support info by going to root drive\windows\system32 and change the info in the oeminfo.ini file. You can also add a bit map logo in a file called oemlog.bmp. |
